Mélenchon says police infiltrated the demonstrations

The Chairman of the Left Party, Jean-Luc Melenchon, said on France Inter and i-Télé on Sunday night (24th) that police had “instructions” to “infiltrate” and “throw stones” from within crowds demonstrating against the pension bill.
The republican police should give some distance to the orders given to them; some have asserted their right to opt out, due to exhaustion; they should)voice their opposition in a much stronger way to a number of orders and practices.

“The practice I refer to is the presence in the processions of demonstrators of infiltrated people who throw stones, smash windows and then get out police armbands,” he said.
“I even put a picture on my blog” of a scene taking place in Savoy, he illustrated, and reported the remarks made the previous day by a young student leader who has seen “people who were among the most zealous at throwing rocks then take out armbands.
“It’s a fact,” he said.
“What we need to know is who gives such orders,” he added. “Nobody can believe that police officers on their own decide to disguise themselves as protesters and throw stones and then make arrests,” he said. “I think the Minister of the Interior is aware of this,” he added.
