The likelihood of a default by Greece – a trigger for the insolvency of the ECB – has grown after IMF inspectors are reported to be preparing to say this week that Greece has failed to meet all its fiscal targets and to withhold the IMF’s share of a fifth tranche of a €110bn EU and IMF bailout.
Without an injection of cash, the Greek government could run out of money as early as June.
A default and a reintroduction of the Drachma could see Greece returning to a rapid economic recovery similar to Iceland and so help avert social unrest but a default will lead to the insolvency of the ECB with a major impact on the euro.
Bild newspaper says that Greece is verging on a “revolution” as tens of thousands of people camp in Athens squares.
A fact finding mission by lawmakers of the German Bundestag has uncovered the scale of the impoverishment of the Greek people due to the EU and IMF penal bailout, according to a report by AFP.
“I’ve clearly realised how Greece is making it really tough for its citizens” by implementing austerity measures, said Steffen Bilger, a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s ruling Christian Democrats (CDU) who would not normally be suspected of mollycoddling what some here condemn as spendthrifts.
His CDU colleague Juergen Klimke said he found Athens “in an awful state,” adding that this was “far from being my best trip to Greece.”
For Kai Gehring, a member of the opposition Greens whose party advocates restructuring the Greek debt, “I think it would be impossible to force new reforms” on them.
“Greece has really asked a lot of its citizens,” the Green delegation representative said.
He also deplored that the German press “does not really speak of the efforts made by the Greeks and of the reform programme which crushes both public spending and investment”, said AFP.
German economist Hans Werner Sinn has said Greece faces civil war due to the policies of the EU and ECB.
„Economists agree that Greece will not emerge from its crisis without a debt restructuring. To become competitive again, the country would have to reduce prices and wages by 20 to 30 percent,” says Ifo President Sinn. This would correspond to the devaluation that occurred in Germany in the early 1930s as a result of the emergency decrees of then Chancellor Heinrich Brüning. “This sort of thing works in theory, but in practice it leads to the brink of civil war.”

Greek EU official Maria Damanaki said on Friday a return to the Drachma was being considered, according to the media.
Greece can take heart from Iceland if it defaults. Iceland’s economy is growing as a result of the jettisoning a demand to pay huge amounts of interest to banks for an artificially inflated national debt, and many economists expect Greece to stage a fast recovery too in the event of a return to the Drachma. The UK was able to devalue its currency by 25% since 2008, allowing it to avoid much of the financial pain of Greece.
In a last ditch effort to stop a Greek default – which will shatter the ECB balance sheets and make it insolvent –, the EU and European Central Bank , ECB, appear to be trying to spring in for the IMF and find extra cash for Greek banks. But a new “bailout” package would require parliamentary approval, and German, Finnish and Dutch parliaments are increasingly recognising that Greece and its banks are insolvent and not illiquid and will never be able to repay its debt.
Otmar Issing former European Central Bank Chief Economist said that Greece will „probably be unable to meet its obligations as the euro region’s most-indebted nation is insolvent.“
CDU/CSU lawmaker Michael Fuchs said Germany should not pay more money to Greece if the IMF withholds payments. FDP lawmaker Rainer Brüderle also expressed doubts over giving more money as baillouts to insolvent governments and banks.

An Irish Minister at the weekend also cast more doubt on the ECB, EU and IMF “bailout” strategy for the eurozone by saying Ireland will also need a second “bailout” next year, opening the prospect of limitless demands for bailuts for insolvent governments and banks across the eurozone in the near future.
Many economists agree that the EU and IMF “bailout” has piled more debt onto the existing mountain of debt driving the economy into recession and sending the budget deficit out of control. Greece’s debt burden nw stands at around €330bn.
The ECB plan for a privatisation programme in Greece will not solve the debt problem, said the FT.
“The core issues are how to fund Greece over the next two years and whether to restructure its debt. No amount of privatisations will make these burning questions go away.”

There is reason to be worried about Jane (the real one)
If Jane has participated in the comments by using some pseudonym, she is reading the comments. If she is reading the comments, she knows about the doubts that are being expressed by various persons regarding her being herself. So why does she not answer directly in the comments by using her name? And if she has not participated in the comments by using a pseudonym because she does not read the comments of her own blog, what kind of behavior is that? Her original argument for not reading the comments: “They are being manipulated anyway”. (?) Jane herself sais, she is known by Millions, and Millions are on her side. Is’nt there ONE in all those Millions who has direct contact to Jane, to tell her, those “Millions” are becoming more doubtfull by the day, whether she still exists as a free or a living person??
On the other hand, Jane told us, the court wants a fee of 40.000 Euros for handeling her inheritance and because of that, she wont be able to pay so much attention to her blog. Maybe that is the reason why the latest articles are copy and paste jobs?
I had a website once, with 10.000 visitors per month. Through that, I became quite popular. But I did learn, if one does not keep ones website up to date, that popularity vanishes quite quickly, like Janes “Millions” might vanish quickly if nothing new apears on her blog. I think she needs that blog to stay en vogue and not loose her popularity. So she cant just stop to post articles. On the other hand she is occupied with the 40.000 Euro fee of the courts, so maybe thats the reason for the copy and paste jobs of recent time and for the fact that she does not bother about comments, so she never heard of the doubts concerning her person? Befor I believe, Jane or her Blog has been hijacked, I’d rather think, Jane has a kind of psychiatric episode, so she apears to us as being someone else. That is what I think.
What I like about this website is that there is a lot to learn about propaganda here.
For example, we see in the news-section what the governments want us to think.
And someone in the comments-section is kind enough to keep on explaining the Hows and Whys of the process.

That’s quite confusing. It’s bound to arouse suspicion. It makes readers wondering and worrying about her. I presume Jane would neither like nor want that to happen.

I do not think, assuming Jane might be hinderd by stress, grief or both to participate the way she used to, is such a ‘wild conclusion’. Who does not crack as soon as certain amounts of stress or grief is in play? I do. And I do remember Jane under stress when this niklas whats his name and this court guardienship episode played. So I am comparing. What actually is going on with her, I dont know. I do doubt that she has not heard about the worries regarding her well being and the state of her Blog. I had informed her. Her reaction was “rubbish”. So, I dont know. I do know, that I would rather spend my time and energy commenting articles coming from her head and hand then those copy & paste jobs seen here recently. I do, occasionally, put some effort into my comments, and I dont want to see this effort wasted.
Again, I think, Jane is alright. She is not in any captivity, nor has some strange power taken over her Blog. She is the one she has always been, exept maybe, under more pressur of work or whatever then usual. More, in my opinion, is not behind this “mystery”.

Extreme grief and emotional stress may cause psychological disorders. I have myself experienced this. Those kind of wounds doesnt heal fast. It may take many years.

Jane is’nt “queer” or “weird”. I mean, Jane certainly IS queer and weird enough to do the work she has done. Thats why we are all here. Who else would do that kind of work? That’s exactly what I meant, greenberry. Quite a special software manipulated (NOT by Jane, I guess) for ranking past postings on CERTAIN topics as TOP POSTS despite very little response (in order to get more response on them now ? or whatever)

I guess its an option one can adjust, whether to have TOP POSTS registered and shown or not. It has nothing to do with Janes actions. I too, would be happy to hear she realy is well. Look, the Guy (or Girl) Traubel, is mainly attacking ME, why, I do not know, since I am the one who is defending Jane in all this confusion the most and who tries to bring some clarity into the situation. But this ghost Traubel, in my opinion, realy IS close to Jane or is Jane herself, since he or she mentions a “Wheelchair”. Why should there be a wheelchair mentioned, if not for the fact that I told Jane once, that I am disabled, I am legaly blind and I can hardly walk? But how would this Traubel know that, if he was not close to Jane or was not Jane herself? I am NOT in a Wheelchair, but whoever wrote this Traubel stuff obviously drew this wrong conclusion.
I think it is the fault of people like US, who have put Jane on a high pedestal, who see in her a “Irish tiger” and such, and who expectet her to live up to to our expectations from then on…
If Jane does not post articels that meet our expectations, its US who think, its not her anymore, who posts them, all the while it is her. Very brave men. Two of them were not enough for the task so they had to call for assistance.
