Mercury still in majority of flu shots for use in US

From Age of Autism

According to the CDC in Atlanta, the majority of flu shots available for Americans this season contain mercury.

How much influenza vaccine is projected to be available for the 2010-11 influenza season?

At the current time, six influenza vaccine manufacturers are projecting that as many as 160-165 million doses of influenza vaccine will be available from currently licensed manufacturers in the U.S. for use during the 2010-11 influenza season.

How much thimerosal-free influenza vaccine is expected to be available for the 2010-11 season? For the 2010-11 season, manufacturers project producing approximately 74 million doses of thimerosal-free or preservative-free (trace thimerosal) influenza vaccine.

Recently I responded to an article on MSNBC decrying the declining number of people choosing to be vaccinated. Among other things, the article indicated “herd immunity” was an overriding consideration in the face of individuals fearing ill health effects. As an editor of a major bioscience newsletter for many years who covered the vaccine field, I asked a number of pertinent questions:

    Q. What do you tell the tens of millions of people who received the previous live polio vaccine, now discontinued because the strain used can spontaneously revert to the virulent (disease causing) strain? (Nothing, I guess.)

    Q. What do you tell the tens of millions of people vaccinated for polio with vaccines contaminated by SV-40, a simian (monkey) cancer-causing virus? Do you think any of the vaccinated people subsequently developed cancer? (I do.)

    Q. School-age children in the U.S. are required to have some 39 vaccinations in order to attend school. By the time a student reaches adulthood, shots and boosters can equal 60. Could you list the studies and results showing the synergistic and cumulative effects of these vaccines used in combination? (Hint: There are none I’m aware of!)

    Q. Can you list studies not only showing the safety and efficacy of adjuvants and preservatives used in current vaccine but showing the safety and efficacy of these vaccine components used in combination? (Once again, none I’m aware of.)

    Q. If vaccines are so safe, why is it necessary to grant financial “herd immunity” to vaccine producers shielding them from lawsuits?
    (Answer is obvious!)

    Q. Veterinary textbooks warn of the dangers of over-vaccinating animals. You certainly must recognize that children cannot be vaccinated against every disease threat–without causing a catastrophic immune failure? Who determines the risk vs. benefit of each specific vaccine?

    Q. What is the risk of a child contracting hepatitis B vs. the very real risk of vaccine side effects such as blindness (recently happened to a boy in Austria)? (My view is that it is more likely a child will have a side effect of some type from the vaccine than catching the disease.)

    Q. What are the benefits of giving limited immunity to some HPV (human pappiloma virus) strains vs. the very real risk of serious side effects, including death? (None, I think. There can also be serious complications if the vaccine is given to teenage girls already infected with the disease.)

    Q. Can you list studies showing there are no autoimmune complexes generated from the administration of various and repeated booster shots? (Once again, none I’m aware of. I’ve read animal texts advising against giving animals boosters for this very reason.)

    Q. Is the immunity derived from vaccination limited and of limited duration? (Yes would be my answer. There are repeated cases of outbreaks in vaccinated populations.)
