THEODEKTI VALLIANATOU CONTINUES TO COMMIT FINANCIAL FRAUD WITH THE HELP OF THE BISHOP OF VOLOS

Theodekti Polychronia Vallianatou is continuing to commit  solicit funds to her private bank account which she is not allowed to have under church rules, it has emerged.

A monastery is supposed to have a joint account under church rules. Senior nuns and Abbesses are not supposed to own private property or have a private income. But the monastery of St John the Forerunner has only one bank account and that is private account of Theodekti Polychronia Vallianatou. She continues to solicit donations to this private account, but without informing people that it is her personal account. Her name is omitted on the website, giving the false impression that the bank account is not her personal one.

When I was  at the monastery, I was pressured to transfer a significant amount of money to the personal account of Polychronia Vallianatou at Piraeus bank at IBAN:GR28017124900062490101 18336, not realizing that it is against all church rules for an Abbess to have a personal bank account.

In an act of fraud, Theodekti Vallianatou  solicited transfers for her private bank account under her total control and then, used that personal bank account to make personal purchase of a grass machine, for example (see my transfer above).

But her fraud continues.

Eight months after evidence that she has committed serious crimes, Theodekti Vallianatou continues to solicite donations to her private bank account in violation of church rules.

The bank account given on the monastery website for donations for the restoration of the old monastery is the personal bank account of Polychronia Vallianatou at Piraeus Bank  GR28017124900062490101 18336.

But the monastery website gives no indication of this. The personal name of Polychronia Vallianatou is missing from the account. Donors are, therefore, not aware they are giving money to an individual in violation of church rules. Theodekti, Theoktisti and other members of the monastery together with the Bishop of Volos are deliberately, wilfully and knowingly misleading donors and participating in an act of financial fraud.

Also, it has to be asked where did the donations for the restoration of the old monastery come from? In addition, what Christian community would seek to rebuild an old monastery at a time when Greece itself faces collapse, the farmers face ruin under extra taxes, the people of Greece face mass starvation if the farmers are wiped out, a million people face homelessness in the first wave of foreclosure and when young students have to prostitute themselves for 4 euros a hour in order to have something to eat?

The control and power that Theodekti Vallianatou enjoys over the monastery derives in a large part from the fact that she runs it from her private bank account with the knowledge and consent of the Bishop of Volos and the second in command Theoktisti Nichola Emsley, to whom Theodekti Vallianatou shows a special favouritism and who is, therefore, complicit in this financial fraud racket.

Theodekti is not on her own, an uncontrolled individual. She is a member of a hierarchical church based on obedience and in a state of discipline, under the command of the Bishop of Volos, and subordinated constantly to his control system. The monastery has to give information to the Bishop on all aspects of its day to day running. It also has to submit detailed financial accounts. Theodekti Vallianatou is only able to violate the rules and commit crimes because the Bishop of Volos has continued to hold his protective hand over her.

An old Athens school friend of Theodekti Vallianatou, the Bishop of Volos has shown favouritism towards her by allowing her to use her private bank account to run the monastery in violation of church rules, Signalling his tolerance of her corruption, he has also apparently allowed her to keep her private property in Athens.

Theodekti told me she owns a flat in Plateia in Athens which she rents out. Theoktisti said Theodekti had transferred the title deeds to someone else to hide the fact that she is owner. It is not clear if the income from this flat is paid directly into the personal bank account of Theodekti Vallianatou.

The monastery has to present its accounts to the Bishop on a regular basis. Therefore, the Bishop must know and approve of Theodekti’s violation of church rules.

I allege that he holds his protective hand over her because he directly benefits from her fraudulent activities. The Bishop obtains a 10% share of all the monastery’s income I was told. That means that he must have received 10% of all the money I transferred to the personal bank account of Theodekti Polychronia Vallianatou. I allege he does not want to repay me the10% of the about 100,000 euros or so I gave the monastery in cash, kind and electronic transfer or to pay compensation, and therefore, encouraging Theodekti to engage in a cover up.

The overriding concern of the Bishop has not been for justice for me but to care for Theodekti and protect the church from scandal, maintain an image and so acquire more donations from the public for church projects.

The Bishops of Volos and of Larisa have given their public support to two concerts in Ajia and Larisa in December to raise funds for the rebuilding of the old monastery.

The Bishops have done nothing to alert the public as to the violence and seriousness of of the crimes of Theodekti, Theonike and Theoktisti and others.

By leaving Theodekti in charge of the monastery, the Bishops have left visitors, sisters and other vulnerable people in the monastery are in a corrupt and dangerous situation.

They are acting in breach of their duty to ensure the safety of guests and members of the monastery.

It’s time for any sincere Christians in the Orthodox church to take action and distance themselves from the criminal gang of Theodekti Vallianatou and the Bishop of Volos.
