VICTORY! THE SAATCHI BILL IS LAID TO REST

Applause for MP Chris Heaton-Harris who has tabled amendments to the Access to Medical Treatments Innovation Bill, the “gruesome twosome” twin of the Saatchi Bill, to remove the dangerous and unnecessary clauses 3 and 4 allowing doctors to experiment on patients without fear of being sued.

Here is one MP who is actually  prepared still to listen. Clauses 3 and 4 were opposed by every single major medical and patient association in the UK.

There is still another version of the Saatchi Bill in the Lords, but it is difficult to see how this bill can be passed, even under emergency measures, given the fact that two versions of the legislation have now been terminated in the Commons.
