Andrea Leadsom has beaten Michael Gove to join Teresa May on shortlist for Conservative leadership ballot.
Theresa May – 199
Andrea Leadsom – 84
Michael Gove – 46
Leadsom, a politician who seems genuinely committed to delivering Brexit as well as prosperity, has made it through to the final round in spite of a dirty tricks campaign.
Leadsom will face off against establishment frontrunner and Remain supporter Teresa May in the next vote which will be put to the Conservative party members.
Let’s hope we don’t see the ranks of the Tory party artificially inflated with Remain supporters to scupper the election of Leadsom, who is more popular with the rank and file.
Jeremy Corbyn shows the disaster that can happen when a party is artificially packed with fake members to foist a useless leader into power.
