Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has refuted the claims that he had ostensibly discussed the dismissal of the former FBI director Comey with US President Donald Trump during the minister’s meeting with the US President on May 10.
But he has been contradicted by multiple sources, so he is lying. The question is why he is going to such lengths to pretend he never discussed the firing of James Comey with Donald Trump when this would have been the most normal thing in the world. After all, as Foreign Minister, Lavrov has to be briefed on all the developments concerning his country and its relationship with the USA. Once briefed, it would be the most natural thing in the world to ask questions about the firing of Comey and the Russian investigation.
